additional cash needed?

June 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

hello to the readers of this blog… namely yixin and joris i suppose? we’ll be meeting soon!

To xf,

Just in case travelling in Europe cost a huge bomb way beyond our projected spendings, a quick check with the bank (UOB) has revealed that we can withdraw cash from any atm machines with the PLUS service using the UOB campus card.

However, a 1% cross border charge and a 1.5% bank charge will be imposed.

4 more days to the flight!

signing off,

jingwen

Preceptorship at CGH has finally come to an end; and our progress from the last post hasn’t been much really with all the assignments and stuffies to contend with.

Food:

  • I’ve got my sundried apricots and guavas from the fruits bazaar at CGH on my last day there! Think Jwen got some stuffies too, and Miao Juan bought the same thing as me to bring over to Canada to munch on during her SEP
  • Sundried cranberries from Jwen and gummy bears from Jo on my last day at CGH
  • Kaya for our host family to try
  • Instant coffee, milo and cereal *waHahahAHaha*
  • Am thinking of bringing my favourite thai Tom Yam and korean Kimchi instant noodles over, but it sounds pretty insane.
  • sweets and whatnots to munch on whenever, wherever!
  • Vitamin C effervescent tabs (my mum insists I bring)
  • Green beans and sago seeds (if i ever want to try cooking green bean soup for the host family)

Medications:

  • My own
  • Panadol and Anarex
  • Trachisan lozenges, Difflam (trying to find the Blackcurrant Strepsils)
  • Chlorpheniramine
  • Plasters (have to buy AGAIN cos’ I used up an entire box just for 6 weeks of work alone)
  • But then again we’re working in a pharmacy so getting medications when needed is not really a problem.

  • Stationery: pens, pencil and lead, scissors
  • Notebook(s), file
  • Nail clipper
  • Hangers for clothes
  • 2 travel books: Under the Tuscan Sun and The Handmaid’s Tale
